VBC Elementary Music Programme (3-6Y) [Term 3, 2023-2024]

VBC Elementary Music Programme (EMP) is tailored for young children aged 3-6. The programme offers an artistic and holistic approach to music. With guidance and stimulation, we enable our students to feel and express themselves through music. Ultimately, we hope to see our students grow with music as their life-long companion.

Every session is organised around a theme that children can relate to in their daily lives, with its own theme song and musical activities that incorporate the key elements of the programme. 

Students can choose to join the VBC Junior Choir Progrmame at the age of 5.

EMP Elements

Voice – The centre of EMP is the exploration and development of the voice. Particular emphasis is placed on the conscious use of the singing voice.

Ear – We develop and stabilise the connection between singing and listening. Additionally, students will experience listening consciously to sounds, noises, silence as an integral part of music, together with music of different genres, styles, cultures and times.

Movement – We encourage children´s natural enthusiasm for music and movement. Children will discover and develop movement as a form of self-expression.

Instruments – We introduce children to various basic instruments. The instruments are not only a means of artistic expression and among others a tool for comprehending musical parameters.

Musical Parameters – Throughout the programme children will earn reliable knowledge and will know how to implement various musical parameters by means of voice, ear, body-movements and basic instruments.
